YouTube has become a phenomenon, it became huge part in the daily life of people who spend their free time on internet. It started as a simple video-sharing website in 2005 and became a real big thing. Now it is one of the most popular website in the world.
According to statistic that they have on their website, YouTube has more than 1 billion users over the world. Every day, every single minute, even now people watch hundreds of millions of hours on YouTube, at the same time generating billions of views. Every minute 300 hours of video content uploads on the website. The service is available in 61 languages and localized in 75 countries.
It is no longer a website for uploading the video, it is a platform for making money. But in YouTube case, you can make money as well. Just look at all famous youtubers right now, they started from the bottom and became famous by doing things they like to do. This is another one side of YouTube, it inspires people, makes them believe, and motivates them to be more creative.
The website is easy to use, no need to be an expert in technologies to figure out how it works. It offers new ways to every user, from uploading their content
YouTube is also used for education not only for entertainment. There, in that space you can find a lot of useful videos for you, from cooking recipes to self-improvement tutorials and so on. Sometimes you can get the latest world news on this website way before then on TV.
Users prefer this website for listening the music not only for watching the videos. You can listen latest hits there for free, because a lot of music starts update their channels frequently.
In the perspective of music industry, YouTube is tool for promoting musicians, their music and tours. For example: Popular musicians releases their singles on YouTube.
The movie industry works absolutely the same as music. Big companies such as Warner Brothers, Walt Disney upload trailers of their movies, cartoons to introduce audience with products that are going to come up.
It also can be used as tool of creating awareness among people by different companies such as WWF with global warming or extinction of tigers. For example: ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – campaign of promoting amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which involves a lot of people across the world, from celebrities to normal people.
Millions of advertisers use the website to promote and present their product or service. It is the era of technologies so a lot of companies inform their potential customers by using this platform. For example: Annual Apple’s presentation, where they usually present new brand products.
They understand that the future is in technologies, so that is why they go online, simple digitalize.
But let’s not forget that some content on YouTube can cause psychological trauma, despite the fact that moderators keep an eye on. Despite that fact, YouTube has more pros than cons.
So as a result, we have one the most popular and powerful platform so far and only a fool would question it.

Internet is a global network connecting millions computers around the world every second, even now. The internet became a global phenomenon, nowadays many people cannot imagine their live without, so let's take a look at timelines i have prepared and understand how internet evolved through years.

As we can observe from the timelines, the evolution of internet took time and it still going.

The mainstream media nowadays in Kazakhstan is television. 80% of Kazakhstan’s population watch TV, but it decreases every day. The second media after TV is internet, and I have to say that the number of internet users growths rapidly. In my humble opinion, I predict that in one year or at least two, the internet will replace TV from the first place. What about newspaper? Newspapers are not so popular in my country, but they still quite far from absolute extinction. A large amount of people goes online to check the latest news, so do I.
I can say that in my country, new media in some ways prevail over traditional media. Traditional media preferred by old generation of people who are not good in technologies, while millenniums usually use new media to be updated. Some newspapers and TV channels are under control of Kazakhstan government, so the trustable to them is extremely low. In many countries media is influenced by government and all we know that government try to eliminate any negative news that can harm or show their true colors.
